Clinical Supervision for Therapists & Counselors

Supportive, practical supervision for developing clinicians who want to strengthen their clinical skills, professional identity, and confidence in their work.

Clinical supervision is more than a requirement on the path to licensure. It is an opportunity to slow down, think deeply about your work, make sense of complexity, and become increasingly intentional about the clinician you are becoming.
I offer individual or group clinical supervision for therapists & counselors seeking thoughtful, collaborative support as they move toward independent licensure & practice. Our work may include case conceptualization, clinical interventions, ethics, documentation, boundaries, therapeutic relationships, and the many nuanced decisions that are part of practicing in the mental health field.
Supervision can also make room for the larger questions of professional development—how your clinical voice is taking shape, what kind of work feels meaningful to you, where you may want to specialize, and how to build a career that is both effective and sustainable.
My approach is collaborative, reflective, and grounded in growth. Rather than simply providing answers, I want supervision to strengthen your ability to think clinically, trust your judgment, understand the reasoning behind your decisions, and navigate complexity with increasing confidence and clarity.

For clinicians interested in private practice, supervision can also provide space to discuss the practical side of building a sustainable practice, including professional boundaries, caseload development, systems, documentation, and creating a practice that aligns with your clinical values.
If you are looking for a supervisor who will support both your clinical development and your growth as an independent professional, I welcome you to reach out to see whether we would be a good fit.

What Supervisees Say

I had the opportunity to work with Gretchen Ekins as my clinical supervisor for about a year. I am honored to recommend her to others in need of clinical supervision. Gretchen consistently modeled best practices in clinical care, integrating evidenced based approaches with respect for client autonomy and cultural sensitivity. Gretchen was extremely helpful with case conceptualization, treatment plan development and selecting the best possible treatment interventions. I am deeply grateful for the mentorship I received from Gretchen who helped me grow and develop into a more confident and effective clinician.

I really enjoyed Gretchen as my supervisor. She is very knowledgeable and frequently shared insight that helped my development as a clinician. She also had a good feel for when I would benefit from figuring things out on my own and strategically provided me the space to do so.

I would highly recommend her!
